It was another lively and eventful term
at All Saints.
The day started with a rendition of
"Jerusalem" in opening assembly, which started badly
but improved on the second verse.
Bethany attended with a typical box of
tricks including a waterpistol, bouncy-balls and sweets. Bunty
was her usual cheeky and highly energetic self, and Peter &
Michelle were up to endless mischief.
Luckily the school was kept to an
orderly level by the alert stewardship of Mr Barrington and
Professor Savage, who were both on top form with strap and cane
to bring a painful conclusion to any misdemeanours, and quite a
few there was too.
Bunty decided to wear three pairs of
knickers after lunch, and nearly got away with it until rumbled
by Prof Savage in final assembly, who duly got to the bottom of
that particular incident. Peter was thrashed for posession of the
water pistol which soaked Mr Barrington and the Professor`s
shirt, Bethany was sloshed for cheek and eating in class, and
Michelle "Iron Nix" Cherington`s stoicism under the
cane and strap was severly tested for a number of misdemeanours.
There was also some good work done in
all the lessons, and Bethany displayed some very good general
knowledge in the house quiz.
Each pupil managed to accumilate three
order marks each, an automatic 12-whack whopping, duly
administered in final assembly, and an additional six each for a
variety of other misdemeanour`s throughout the day, not least the
hiding of the Professor`s lesson notes, to which he responded to
with some hiding of his own.
